WELCOME to the Geary Girls Ranch.

Welcome to the GEARY GIRLS RANCH, a foster home community in North Texas. We are building a community of eight homes with licensed foster parents in each home, helping 6 children at any given time in each home. Our first home of the eight is scheduled for completion October of 2019. We are in a country setting that will have animals, gardens, and a healthy outdoor and indoor environment. Each home will have loving, nurturing parents who will create a family atmosphere to make these children who have been displaced feel at home. The ranch will eventually have eight homes, enabling us to help as many as 48 children at a time.

I am Susie Black Holamon and I was in foster care in Dallas from the age of 12 to 17 years old. This ranch is a tribute and a legacy to Joe and Charlotte Geary, who created a home environment in the care that I received, therefore, achieving success in having a normal life. I am now a retired teacher, have been married to the same man for 42 years and raised 2 sons. I have written my story “MY FIVE MOMS” and immersed myself in the foster care system for the past five years; being a mentor and a respite to the Ebby House Girls (a transitional home for girls who have aged out of the system and part of Juliette Fowler Communities in Dallas) and being a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) to a teenage girl who in 5 years had 13 different placements all over Texas and 9 different caseworkers.

Here in north Texas, the need for good foster homes is tremendous and we hope to help many children before they age out of the system. We will receive our children (an area of 19 counties) from DFPS who are in need of good foster homes. Our community will offer support and programs for both parents and children.

A very important fact about the GEARY GIRLS RANCH that we are a 501C3 non profit organization and we are privately funded.

We welcome your participation as a volunteer, a mentor, a program facilitator, and your interest in our fundraiser events. We look forward to hearing from you and would be honored to include you in our contact lists, therefore, keeping you updated on what’s new at the GEARY GIRLS RANCH.

God Bless You,
Susie Black Holamon
